Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of “homage WWE” and see what I could create. My goal was simple: make a short tribute video using some classic wrestling footage. Nothing fancy, just a fun little project.
Getting Started
First, I needed some footage. I spent a good hour just browsing through old matches on YouTube. Man, it brought back memories! I grabbed a bunch of clips – mostly entrances, signature moves, and big finishing moments. I didn’t worry too much about copyright at this stage, it was just for personal use and practice.

I used a simple screen recorder to capture the clips. I know, I know, there are probably better ways, but this was quick and dirty. I just wanted to get the clips into my editing software.
The Editing Process
Next, I fired up my trusty old video editor – I use a free one, it get the work done. I imported all the clips and started arranging them. This was the fun part! I wanted a fast-paced, energetic feel, so I kept the clips short and punchy.
- I started with a montage of iconic wrestler entrances. Think The Rock’s eyebrow raise, Stone Cold’s beer smash, and Undertaker’s slow walk.
- Then, I moved into a section showcasing some classic moves. Suplexes, body slams, DDTs – you name it.
- Finally, I ended with a series of devastating finishing moves. Pedigrees, RKO’s, Tombstone Piledrivers…the works!
I added some royalty-free music I found online. It was some generic rock track, but it fit the vibe pretty well. I played around with the audio levels, making sure the music didn’t drown out the roar of the crowd in the clips.
I spent most of the time just trimming clips and syncing them to the music. I’m no expert, so it took a bit of trial and error. There was a lot of “undo” and “redo” involved, that’s for sure! It wasn’t perfect, some transitions were a bit clunky, but hey, it was coming together.
The Final Result
After a few hours of tinkering, I had something I was reasonably happy with. It was a short, high-energy tribute to some of my favorite wrestling moments. It wasn’t going to win any awards, but it was a blast to make. I watched it a few times, grinning like an idiot. Mission accomplished!
This little project reminded me how much I enjoy the simple act of creating something. Even if it’s just a silly little video, it’s satisfying to bring an idea to life. And hey, it was a good excuse to relive some classic wrestling moments!
