Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “anime boxing wraps” all over my TikTok feed, and I finally caved. I mean, who wouldn’t want to punch things with their favorite characters cheering them on? Plus, my old wraps were getting kinda gross, so it was time for an upgrade anyway.
First, I spent like an hour just browsing through different designs. There were so many options! Did I want classic Shonen Jump characters? Something more niche? Maybe even… magical girls? The possibilities were endless, and my indecisive self was struggling.

Finally, I settled on a pair with a cool-looking fighter from an anime I’d just binged. They looked pretty badass, and the color scheme matched my gloves, so, win-win.
Then came the actual wrapping. Now, I’m no pro boxer, but I’ve wrapped my hands enough times to know the basic drill. Still, I pulled up a YouTube tutorial just to be safe. Didn’t want to mess up these beauties.
- Started at the wrist, like always.
- Made a few loops around to secure it.
- Then went between each finger, making sure the anime design was facing the right way. This was crucial, obviously.
- Wrapped around the knuckles a few extra times for padding. Gotta protect those precious punching tools.
- Finally, finished it off back at the wrist with the Velcro.
It took a little longer than usual because I was being extra careful to keep the design aligned, but honestly, it was worth it. They looked awesome!
The Test Punch
Of course, I had to test them out immediately. I threw some jabs and crosses at my heavy bag, and let me tell you, it felt different. I don’t know if it was the placebo effect or what, but I felt like I had extra power. Maybe it was the anime characters empowering me, maybe it was just the new wrap job, but either way, I was feeling good.
So, yeah, that’s my anime boxing wrap saga. A bit silly? Maybe. But hey, if it makes my workouts more fun and gets me a little more motivated, I’m all for it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go punch some more things.
