So, the other day I was thinking, “Man, I really need to keep up with what’s happening in my niche.” It’s easy to get stuck in your own little bubble, right? I figured the best way to do that is to see what the big influencers are up to. So I started this little project I call “Watch Influencers”.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed a list. I brainstormed all the top names in my field – you know, the people everyone’s always talking about. I jotted them down on a piece of paper, just a quick, messy list to get the ball rolling.

The Deep Dive
Then came the fun part – diving into their content! I spent a good chunk of time, like a couple of hours, just scrolling through their stuff.
- I checked out their recent posts. What topics are they hitting? What’s getting a lot of engagement?
- I watched some of their videos. How are they presenting information? What’s their style?
- I even read through the comments. What are people saying? What questions are they asking?
Taking Notes
Of course, I didn’t just passively consume all this. I took notes – lots of them. I used a simple notepad on my computer and just typed away as I went. I wrote down anything that stood out: interesting ideas, trends, new tools they mentioned, whatever caught my eye. I was basically dumping my brain onto the page.
Making Sense of it All
After the “research” phase, I had this big, messy pile of notes. It was time to make sense of it all. I went through my notes and started highlighting the key takeaways. I looked for patterns, common themes, anything that jumped out as important. It was like connecting the dots.
Putting it into Action
The whole point of this wasn’t just to learn stuff, but to actually use it. So, I picked a few things from my notes that I thought I could implement right away. Maybe it was a new way to structure my content, a different platform to try out, or a new topic to explore. I made a plan to put these ideas into action, setting small, achievable goals for myself.
Honestly, this whole “Watch Influencers” thing has been super helpful. It’s like a shortcut to staying relevant and getting fresh ideas. And it’s not just about copying what others are doing – it’s about getting inspired and finding your own way to shine. I’m definitely going to keep doing this regularly. It’s a great way to keep learning and growing!
