Man, you won’t believe what I got into the other day – aqua boxing gloves. Yeah, you heard that right. It’s like boxing, but you’re punching underwater with these special gloves. Sounds crazy, I know, but I saw this thing on Shark Tank a while back, and it just stuck in my head. I finally decided to give it a shot and see what all the fuss was about.
First thing I did was order a pair of these aqua boxing gloves online. They’re not your regular boxing gloves, mind you. These things are designed to be used in water, so they’re made of this special material that doesn’t get all waterlogged and heavy. They also have these little weights in them to add resistance. When they arrived, I was super pumped to try them out.

Next, I had to find a pool. Luckily, I know a buddy who has one in his backyard. I hit him up, and he was cool with me coming over to test out my new gear. So, I packed up my gloves, put on my swim trunks, and headed over.
Getting into the pool, the water felt nice and cool. I slipped on the gloves, and they fit snugly. They felt a little weird at first, with the weights in them, but I figured I’d get used to it.
The Workout
- Jab, Cross, Hook: I started with some basic punches – jab, cross, hook. Man, the resistance from the water was way more than I expected! It was like punching through molasses. My arms started burning pretty quick.
- Uppercuts: Then I tried some uppercuts. These were even tougher. Lifting my arms up against the water resistance was a real challenge.
- Combinations: After getting the hang of the individual punches, I started putting them together into combinations. Jab, cross, hook, uppercut. Repeat. I was breathing heavy, and my heart was pumping like crazy.
- Footwork: I even tried incorporating some footwork, moving around the pool while punching. This added a whole new level of difficulty, working my legs and core as well.
I probably spent about 30 minutes in the pool, punching away. By the time I got out, I was exhausted, but it felt amazing! It was definitely one of the most intense workouts I’d ever had.
The next day, my arms and shoulders were sore, but it was a good sore. I could tell I had worked muscles I didn’t even know I had. I’m definitely going to keep using these aqua boxing gloves. It’s a fun, challenging, and effective way to get a full-body workout. If you’re looking for something different to spice up your fitness routine, you should definitely check these out.
