Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “tennis ball candies” all over my social media feeds lately, and you know I had to give them a try. They looked so darn cute, like, who wouldn’t want to try a candy that looks like a tiny tennis ball?
First things first, I had to hunt these babies down. I started checking the usual suspects like the big-box stores, I remembered they always have these “tennis balls from brands like Dunlop, Wilson” displayed in the stores, and I was hoping they might have something similar in the candy aisle. No luck there. These stores mostly just sell real tennis balls by the “can or case”, perfect “for seasoned pros or beginners”, not for sweet tooths like me.

Then I figured, maybe specialty candy stores? They are always boasting about having the “cutest, coolest” stuff, after all. So I dragged myself to a few, and still, nada. Just the regular gummy bears and chocolate bars. I even asked around, thinking maybe it’s a niche thing, but the store clerks looked at me like I had two heads. Some even recommended me with “Slazenger” tennis balls. I mean, come on! Does “Slazenger” look like a candy brand to you?
Feeling a bit defeated, I decided to take my search online. I thought to myself “I’ve scoured the internet”, so there got to be something. I started browsing through all these online candy retailers, hoping to find something that said “tennis ball candy”. I stumbled upon a couple of promising leads, but then came the dreaded “out of stock” message. Ugh, the universe was testing my patience! Even some websites said their “tennis balls come in three distinct models” and asked me to “choose from All Surface, High Altitude or Hard Court”. These websites are driving me nuts!
Just when I was about to give up, I found a small online shop that claimed to have them in stock. They even had pictures! They looked exactly like the ones I had seen online – bright yellow, fuzzy-looking, with white lines to mimic the seams of a real tennis ball. I was so thrilled, I immediately placed an order. I’m not even sure if they are “ideal gifts” for my friends, but who cares! It’s the last straw for me!
A few days later, a package arrived. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. And there they were, in all their glory – tennis ball candies! They were a bit smaller than I expected, but hey, still super cute. They are so lovely, and I was so exciting!
Now, the moment of truth – the taste test. I popped one in my mouth, and… it was interesting. The outer layer had a slightly sour, tangy flavor, kind of like a lemon. But then, as I chewed, the inside revealed a sweet, sugary core. It was a fun mix of flavors, definitely not your average candy. They actually tasted better than they looked!
- Appearance: 10/10 – Adorable and look just like mini tennis balls.
- Taste: 7/10 – A fun mix of sour and sweet, but maybe not for everyone.
- Overall: 8/10 – A unique and fun candy experience, once you managed to find them.
Would I recommend them?
Yeah, why not! If you’re looking for something different and you enjoy a little bit of sour with your sweet, these are worth a try. Just be prepared for a bit of a treasure hunt to find them.
Hope you enjoyed my little candy adventure! Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried these before or if you have any other weird and wonderful candy recommendations. Catch you in the next one!
