Alright, so the other day I was thinking, “Who are some Mexican players that have made it to the NBA?” It’s not something you hear about every day, right? So, I decided to do a little digging around and see what I could find.
First off, I started with a simple search. You know, just typing “Mexican players in the NBA” into the search bar. I found a few names that popped up repeatedly. One of them was this guy, Adam Parada. Apparently, he’s a center and as of June last year, he’s 41 years old. Played for Halcones, among other teams.

Then there was this other player, Najera. Now, this guy, even though he moved around a lot in the NBA, he was pretty solid. Played for 12 years in the league, which is no small feat.
So, after getting these names, I wanted to see if there was a list somewhere. I stumbled upon this blog post talking about five of the best Mexican players in NBA history. It was pretty cool to read about how these guys chased their dreams and all that.
My Findings
Here’s a little list I put together from what I found:
- Adam Parada – Center, 41 years old (as of June 2023), played for Halcones.
- Najera – Played for 12 years in the NBA, known for being a consistent player.
I also found this website, “Basketball-Reference” or something like that, that has a list of all the NBA and even ABA players born in Mexico. I didn’t go through the whole list, but it was neat to see that there’s a resource out there with all this information.
Honestly, it was a fun little project. I learned a bit about some players I had never heard of before. It’s always interesting to see the different paths people take to get to the big leagues. It made me think about how many other players from different countries might be out there, just waiting for their shot. The NBA is such a global game now, it’s fascinating to see how it brings people from all over the world together.
In the end, this little research session got me pretty interested. I’ll probably keep an eye out for more info on Mexican players in basketball. There’s probably a lot of stories out there that are worth a look. It’s amazing what you can find when you just start looking, isn’t it?
