Alright, so I’ve been pumped all week for this fight, Shane Mosley Jr. vs. Daniel Jacobs. It finally happened on July 6th, and man, was it something else! I gotta get this down while it’s still fresh.
First off, I’ve been following Daniel Jacobs for a while. The dude’s a beast, but he’s been out of the ring for over two years. That’s a long time in boxing years. I was super curious to see how he’d do after such a long break. Was he gonna be rusty? Was he gonna come back stronger? So many questions.

I started looking around for ways to watch it live. I searched all over the place, you know how it is. There has to be a way. Jacobs is a former middleweight titleholder, so this was a big deal, at least for me.
Then came the fight night. I got everything set up, snacks, drinks, the whole nine yards. Made sure to clear my schedule. No interruptions allowed. This was Jacobs’ comeback fight, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Pretty big venue.
The fight starts, and right off the bat, you could tell Jacobs was trying to shake off that ring rust. Mosley Jr. was no pushover, though. He came out strong, and it quickly became clear this wasn’t going to be an easy fight for Jacobs.
The Tension Builds
As the rounds went on, the tension just kept building. You could see both fighters giving it their all, but Mosley Jr. started to get the upper hand. Jacobs was landing some good shots, but Mosley Jr.’s punches seemed to have more impact. It was a back-and-forth battle, but Mosley Jr. was definitely winning.
- Round 1: Both fighters feeling each other out, Jacobs a bit tentative.
- Round 2: Mosley Jr. starts to apply pressure, landing some solid hits.
- Round 3: Jacobs tries to come back, but Mosley Jr. counters effectively.
- Mid-Fight: Mosley Jr. takes control, Jacobs struggling to find his rhythm.
By the later rounds, it was pretty clear where things were heading. Mosley Jr. was dominating, and Jacobs just couldn’t seem to turn the tide. The crowd was going wild, you could feel the energy even through the screen.
The Final Bell
And then, the final bell rang. No knockout, but it was a decisive victory for Shane Mosley Jr. He claimed the win, and honestly, he deserved it. Jacobs fought hard, but it just wasn’t his night. It’s tough to come back after such a long break, and Mosley Jr. was just the better fighter that night. Jacobs’s record was sitting at 37-4 prior to this fight, so you can only imagine how this loss hit him.
So, yeah, that was my experience with the Shane Mosley Jr. vs. Daniel Jacobs fight. It was a wild ride, and I’m glad I got to watch it. It just goes to show, in boxing, anything can happen. You never know who’s going to come out on top. Props to both fighters for putting on a great show, but major respect to Shane Mosley Jr. for the win.
