Okay, so today I decided to try out this new game I heard about called Pokedle. I saw a few people talking about it online and it sounded kind of fun, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
I went ahead and found the website where you can play it. Basically, Pokedle is like that Wordle game everyone was crazy about a while back, but instead of guessing words, you’re guessing Pokémon. I’m a big Pokémon fan, so this immediately caught my interest. There are a few different modes you can play, but I started with the Classic one.

The Classic mode gives you six tries to guess a random Pokémon. After each guess, it gives you some feedback.
- Green means you got something right, like the Pokémon’s type, generation, or size.
- Yellow means you’re close but not quite there.
- Red means you’re way off.
My first guess was Pikachu, just because it’s the most famous one. Turns out that wasn’t it, but I did learn that the mystery Pokémon was not from the first generation and had a different type. I made a few more guesses, I used Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, but they are all Generation one and the answer is not, trying to narrow it down based on the clues. I try Piplup, but it is Generation 4, and the result is that it is earlier than Piplup. It felt pretty challenging, but I eventually figured it out.
My First Win
It was Turtwig! I got it on my fifth try, which I was pretty happy about. There’s something really satisfying about finally getting the right answer after a few wrong guesses.
After that, I decided to check out the other modes. There’s one where you have to guess a Pokémon based on a card from the trading card game, that is Card mode. There is another one that gives you a description of a Pokémon, and you have to guess based on that, which is called Description mode. I like the Description mode most because I am not very familiar with the card game, and it is easier for me to guess. They all seemed interesting, but I was getting a little tired, so I decided to call it a day.
Overall, I had a lot of fun playing Pokedle. It’s a neat little game that’s perfect for any Pokémon fan. If you’re looking for a fun way to test your Pokémon knowledge, I definitely recommend giving it a try. I’ll probably play it again tomorrow and see if I can beat my score!
