Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this whole fantasy football thing for a while now, and one of the things I really get a kick out of is coming up with team names. This year, I thought, why not spice things up and go with a Trump theme? It sounded like a fun challenge, and boy, was it!
I started by jotting down anything and everything that came to mind when I thought about Trump. You know, just free-associating. I wrote down words, phrases, his quotes, controversies, even stuff from his businesses. My notebook looked like a crazy person’s diary, but it was a start.

Then, I started playing with those words. I tried to make puns, you know? Like, mixing Trump stuff with football terms. It was tougher than I thought! I had a few decent ones, but nothing that really made me laugh out loud. For example:
- The Mar-a-Lager
- Make America Punt Again
- You’re Fired-Up Quarterbacks
- The Trump Towers
- Fake News Field Goals
I spent hours on this, seriously. My wife thought I was losing it. I started looking up other people’s ideas online, just to get some inspiration. There’s a lot of creative folks out there, I gotta give them that.
After a while, I started getting the hang of it. I focused on wordplay that was both related to Trump and relevant to football. Some of them were a bit edgy, I admit, but that’s part of the fun, right?
Finally, I nailed down my top picks. These were the names that I thought were clever, funny, and just a little bit outrageous, such as:
- The Golden State Warriors (But With Walls)
- Lord of the Rings (The Donald Edition)
- The Artful Dodgers
- Deportation Force
- Alternative Facts
Choosing just one was tough. I bounced the ideas off a few friends. One of my buddies thought they were all terrible, but, hey, you can’t please everyone. Another one loved them and started giving me his own suggestions.
Anyway, I finally made my decision. It was a tough call, but I went with “Alternative Facts.” I thought it was a good mix of humor and a subtle jab at, well, you know.
This whole process was way more involved than I expected. But you know what? It was a blast. I ended up with a team name that I’m really happy with, and I had a good time coming up with it. And who knows, maybe next year I’ll go with a Biden theme. Or maybe something completely different. The possibilities are endless!
