Alright, so you wanna know about this WWE thing in Greenville, South Carolina, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it’s like this…
WWE in Greenville, SC: What’s the Big Deal?
It’s wrestling, you know? Like those fellas on TV, big muscles, fancy costumes, and they pretend to fight each other. My grandkid, he loves it. Always yellin’ at the TV, “Hit ’em harder!” and all that. It’s a show, mind you, not a real fight. But it’s fun, I guess. Folks in Greenville, they seem to like it a whole lot. They got these shows there regular-like, seems like every few months or somethin’.
They call it somethin’ different every time. Sometimes it’s Monday Night Raw, sometimes it’s Friday Night SmackDown. Don’t ask me what the difference is, probably just a bunch of fancy names for the same thing. Guys in tights grapplin’ each other, makin’ faces. That’s all I see, anyway.
- Monday Night Raw: This one’s on TV, I think. Monday nights, makes sense, right? My grandkid says it’s a big deal. He watches it every week, even though I tell him it’s all fake. Kids these days, they believe anything they see on that there TV.
- Friday Night SmackDown: This is another show, seems like it’s the same as Monday Night Raw to me. Maybe different wrestlers? I dunno. They all look the same to me, big and strong and sweaty.
- Live Events: Now these are the ones they do in Greenville, at that big arena place. You gotta buy tickets to see ‘em, but people go. Lots of ‘em, from what I hear. Screamin’ and yellin’ and havin’ a good ol’ time. Good for the town, I reckon. Brings in money and such.
Where do they have it at?
They do it at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Big place, downtown. I went there once for a craft fair, not for wrestlin’ though. Too loud for me. But that’s where those WWE fellas do their thing. Seems like a good spot for it, lots of seats, big ol’ screens, the whole shebang. They got all kinds of things happening there, not just wrestlin’. Concerts, shows, you name it.
When is it?
Well, that’s the tricky part. They don’t have it every week, you see. It’s kinda random-like. They had one this past January, on the 3rd, I think my grandkid told me. And they have ‘em in the fall too. You gotta keep an eye out, check the internet or somethin’. Or ask your grandkids, they always seem to know this kinda stuff. My grandkid keeps tabs on it, tells me when it’s comin’ so he can pester me for tickets. Like I got money to throw around on fake fights!
How much does it cost?
Now, that’s somethin’ I do know about, ’cause my grandkid’s always askin’ for money to go. Tickets ain’t cheap, that’s for sure. Seems like the cheapest ones are around 35 dollars, but most of ‘em are more like 60 or 70 bucks. Highway robbery, if you ask me. But folks pay it, so I guess it’s worth it to somebody. I told my grandkid he can mow lawns all summer if he wants to go that bad. Teaches him the value of a dollar, you know? He ain’t getting no handouts from me for that foolishness.

Who owns this WWE thing anyway?
Some big company, that’s all I know. My grandkid tried explainin’ it to me once, somethin’ about a talent agency and a UFC fightin’ thing. Sounded like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. Big business, that’s all I need to know. They got money, that’s for sure. And they know how to get folks to spend it on wrestlin’ tickets and t-shirts and all that other junk they sell. Smart fellas, I’ll give ‘em that.
So, should you go?
Well, that’s up to you, ain’t it? If you like watchin’ fellas in tights pretend to fight, then go ahead. If you got grandkids, they’ll probably love it. Just be prepared to spend some money and listen to a lot of screamin’. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ my soaps and knittin’. Less noise, less money, and just as much drama, if you ask me.
But hey, to each their own, right? If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do in Greenville and you don’t mind a bit of loud fun, then check out this WWE thing. It’s a whole to-do, and folks seem to enjoy it. Just don’t expect it to be real. It’s all a show, just like those stories they tell on the TV.
