Alright, let’s talk about them tennis stars, the lady ones, you know, the ones who like other ladies. I heard some folks call ’em “lesbian tennis stars,” sounds fancy, but it just means they love who they love, ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.

Now, I don’t know much about tennis, to be honest. I seen it on TV once, them gals hittin’ that little yellow ball back and forth, back and forth. Made my neck hurt just watchin’! But I heard tell of some real good players, strong women, they say. Like that Martina Navratilova. Folks say she’s the best, the greatest of ’em all in singles. Guess she must be somethin’ special, hittin’ that ball harder than anyone else.
Then there’s this whole LGBTQ thing. Heard it on the radio, they talkin’ ’bout it all the time now. Says it means folks who ain’t just boys likin’ girls and girls likin’ boys. They got a whole category for them tennis players too, somethin’ called “LGBTQ tennis players.” Don’t rightly know what all them letters mean, but I reckon it’s just different ways folks love each other. They even say there’s a special place on the internet for it, but it’s empty now, they gotta put some names in there.
- I heard about this girl, Demi Schuurs. She came out when she was just a young’un, a teenager they say. Said she likes girls and she wants other young folks to know it’s okay. That’s brave, I tell ya. Standin’ up for yourself, that’s what matters.
- And get this, way back when, before my time even, there was this lady named Toupie. They say she was the first one, the first lady tennis player who everyone knew liked other ladies. Born way back in 1874, imagine that! Been goin’ on for a long time, this lovin’ who you love thing. She was one of the best in Britain, they say, hittin’ that ball with the best of ’em.
It ain’t just the old-timers neither. Even the young folks these days, they ain’t hidin’ nothin’. I heard tell of Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya. They’re datin’ now, the young’uns say. And then there’s them married couples, like Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils. Love is love, I always say, no matter who you are or where you come from.
Now, some folks might not like it, they might grumble and complain. But I say, it ain’t none of their business. These women, they work hard, they play hard, and they love who they love. And that’s all that matters. They hit that ball with all their might, and they ain’t afraid to be themselves. That’s somethin’ to be admired, I reckon.
So next time you see them tennis stars on TV, don’t matter if they like boys or girls or whoever they like. Just watch ’em play, watch ’em sweat, watch ’em win. They’re strong, they’re talented, and they deserve our respect. And if they love another woman, well, good for them. Love is a blessin’, no matter how you find it. Just like them tennis stars hittin’ that ball, they find their love and they hold onto it tight. And that’s the way it should be.

And let me tell you somethin’ else. It ain’t easy bein’ different. It ain’t easy standin’ up for what you believe in. But these women, they do it every day. They step out on that court, and they show the world who they are. They ain’t ashamed, and they ain’t afraid. And that takes guts, I tell ya, a whole lot of guts. So let’s cheer ’em on, let’s support ’em, let’s celebrate ’em. They’re more than just tennis stars, they’re role models, they’re heroes. And that’s somethin’ worth talkin’ about, don’t you think?
I tell ya, the world’s changin’, and that ain’t always a bad thing. Folks are learnin’ to accept each other, to love each other, no matter what. And these lesbian tennis stars, they’re part of that change. They’re showin’ us that love is love, and that’s all that matters. So let’s raise a glass to ’em, to their strength, to their talent, and to their love. They’re an inspiration to us all, and I’m proud to see ’em shine.
