It’s like sellin’ ’em off quick, gettin’ a little somethin’ for ’em. But the thing is, these prices, they change faster than the weather in spring. One minute it’s this, the next minute it’s that. It’s like sellin’ eggs at the market – one day they’re worth a dollar a dozen, the next day they’re worth less ’cause everyone’s chickens started layin’ like crazy.
Now, my grandson, he’s always lookin’ for the best price he can get. He’s got these websites he looks at, all these numbers and charts. He says they update every minute, sometimes even faster, every 30 seconds! Can you believe that? Back in my day, if you wanted to know the price of somethin’, you went to the store and asked! But these young folks, they got their fancy computers and their internet. He says it helps him “flip” cards, buy low and sell high, like buyin’ eggs from your neighbor cause they got too many and sellin’ em in the market at a high price. Sounds like a whole lotta work to me.
My Grandson’s Mutterings and What They Mean

He’s always tryin’ to find the “most cost-effective” cards for these exchanges. I tell him, “Honey, just play the game, why you gotta worry about all this math?” But he says it’s how you get the best team. I guess it’s like bakin’ a cake – you gotta use the right ingredients in the right amounts to make it good.
- Quick Sell: Sellin’ your cards fast, but not for much. Like gettin’ rid of old tomatoes at the farmer’s market just to make somethin’.
- Stubs: The money in the game, what you use to buy stuff. Like dollars and cents, but for baseball players.
- Flipping: Buyin’ cards cheap and sellin’ ’em high. Sounds like gamblin’ to me.
- Exchanges: Tradin’ in a bunch of cards for a better one. Kind of like tradin’ chickens for a cow.
He even showed me this website, *, where you can list all your extra cards. Said it makes it easier to keep track of what you got and what you need to sell. I swear, these kids these days, they got a tool for everything. Makes me feel like I’m still livin’ in the horse-and-buggy days. My grandson says it’s got these “Baseball Zen” moments, 30-second spots during commercials, just showing one little thing, like a player’s face or a ball flyin’ through the air. Sounds kinda peaceful, I guess, but I’d rather watch the game, myself.

Now the game, it came out on March 19, 2024. And they got it on all them fancy game machines, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox… My grandson, he’s got the PlayStation, the fancy new one. He says the cover has this fella named Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on it. Never heard of him, myself, but I guess he’s a big deal in the baseball world. Seems like every year they got a new game with a new fella on the cover. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me.
