Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your instructions:
Alright, so I wanted to dig into some old NFL data, specifically the 2011 defensive rankings. You know, just for fun, see how teams stacked up back then. I remember it being a pretty wild season, but I wanted the actual numbers.

First thing I did was fire up my browser. I didn’t have any specific sites bookmarked or anything, so I just went to my go-to search engine and typed in “2011 NFL defensive rankings”. Pretty straightforward, right?
The results popped up, and I gotta say, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Some sites had tables, others were just articles talking about the rankings. I just wanted the raw data, you know?
I clicked around a few of the top results. I looked carefully on the pages. Scrolled through, and yeah, some of them were okay, but they didn’t have all the stats I was looking for. I wanted to see yards allowed, points allowed, maybe even takeaways… the whole shebang.
Eventually, I found this one page .It wasn’t the prettiest, but man, it had the goods. It was a table with all the teams, and columns for all sorts of defensive stats. Exactly what I was looking for!
My Findings!
I spent a good chunk of time just poring over the * are my findings:
- Total Defense:Measured by yards allowed per game.
- Scoring Defense:Measured by points allowed per game.
- Rushing Defense: Measured by rushing yards allowed per game.
- Passing Defense:Measured by passing yards allowed per game.
It was pretty cool to see how things lined up. I could see which teams were really dominant on defense, and which ones were, well, not so much. I even compared it to my memory of that season, and it mostly checked out, which was satisfying.
So yeah, that’s my little data dive for the day. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was fun to revisit that season and get into the nitty-gritty stats. Might do another one of these soon, maybe for a different year or even a different sport. We’ll see!
